There is nothing like outdoor grilling! Anyone can throw hot dogs and burgers on the grill and call it a day. Impress everyone with your lobster grilling technique by following these simple instructions!
Grilling lobster takes about the same preparation time as the common boiling and steaming methods, but you won’t get the same grill flavors or tastiness!
Step one: Preheat your grill to medium-high heat.
Step two: Bring a pot of salted water to a rolling boil. Put the lobsters in the water for 5 minutes.
Step three: Remove the lobsters and run them under cold water for 1-3 minutes to stop the cooking process.
Step four: Cut the lobsters in half lengthwise. Next you’ll want to remove the black vein of the lobster’s intestinal tract from the tail and rinse the tomalley from the body and grain sac from the head.
Step five: Rub the grill grates with a little olive oil so the lobster meat doesn’t stick. With a mixture of butter and desired spices baste the lobster meat generously and flip the meat side down on the grill for 5-6 minutes.
Step six: Baste the lobsters again and grill for another 4 minutes.
When your Maine lobsters are ready, the meat will be a white opaque color. Enjoy!
